The resort of Chamrousse is situated at the point of the Massif de Belledonne just 30km from Grenoble.
It is based on two levels, Chamrousse 1650 (Recoin) and Chamrousse 1750-1700 (Roche Beranger - Domaine de lArselle) joined by ski slopes for a surface area of 1300 hectares.
The resort is constructed in the middle of the forest offering an exceptional panoramic view over Grenoble and the valley.
The highest point is the Croix de Chamrousse at an altitude of 2250m. 90km of ski slopes and 40.8km of cross country are all waiting here for families, sports fenatics and everyone who loves nature and wide open spaces.
Next to skiing, the big new thing this year will be the newly constructed cabin lift 'La Croix', here to replace the famous cable car the 'Croix de Chamrousse' and the chair lifts 'la Croix' and the 'Grand Couloir'.
It will be available during the winter season 2009/10. At the summit you'll be able to see the areas of the Grandes Rousses and the L'Oisans, to the south: the Taillefer and the Mont Aiguille, to the west: the plateau du Vercors, and to the North: the Chartreuse and les Bauge.
This cabin lift will also be available for walkers.
