Cheap ski hire Cervinia (Breuil)
Cervinia sits above the treeline at just over 2,000m with the famous Matterhorn dominating the scenery. The Italians call it the Cervino and the resort was duly renamed for it on the instruction of Mussolini. Cervinia has a pleasant feel to it, much more laid back than the expensive exclusivity of Zermatt, but still with a very upmarket Italian atmosphere.
Its high altitude – 3,883m at the top lift station – means that top to bottom slopes are virtually guaranteed, throughout a long season that runs from November to the beginning of May. Three interlinked valleys give a wide range of terrain, with plenty to suit all levels of ability. Choose from tree runs in the lower area of Valturnanche, Goillè's off-piste, or the perfectly groomed slopes up on the glacier, all overlooked by the distinctive outline of the Matterhorn. A fairly gentle gradient allows beginners and wobbly intermediates to gain enormous confidence in an extensive high-mountain area, while more confident skiers with an international pass can take advantage of skiing in Zermatt without having to pay the high prices for accommodation in Switzerland.
It’s also open in the summer for glacier skiing and snowboarding, as well as for weekends in October, all of which Ski Discount is ready to equip you for.
