Cheap ski hire Courchevel 1850
Don’t be fooled by the look on your bank managers face when you tell him you’ve booked a holiday to Courchevel, despite its reputation the vast majority of this famous ski retreat is entirely affordable. Courchevel is a complex of four distinct resort villages linked by lifts, pistes, roads, and a free bus service to navigate through them, it is only the last of these that earns Courchevel its bank busting infamy. Getting to Courchevel takes a little longer than many other resorts; the nearest airport is Geneva, just over 2 hours away by road, but the Eurostar does also offer a service to Moutiers once a week, and if money is no object then there’s always the airport right on the Courchevel slopes.
Courchevel (formerly Courchevel 1850) is the biggest and most lavish of the complexes resorts. It is the true prestige place to stay, where wealthy and famous Russians and Parisians head to be seen. Home to huge numbers of luxury chalets and swanky shops, the Courchevel complex plays host to 16 hotels with five-star status and 5 restaurants with two Michelin stars, many of which can been found here at the 1850m village. Among them is the renowned Chabichou, which is considered one of the finest places to eat not only in the Alps, but indeed in the world. After dinner, you’ll find yourself in one of the best après ski resorts in the Trois Vallées, with a huge concentration of bars and nightclubs in Courchevel.
Courchevel 1850 is an ideal resort for beginners, with good nursery slopes, great ski schools, and a selection of gentle green pistes. Intermediates are even better catered for, with 75% of the Courchevel slopes designated blue or red. For an excellent black look no further than the steep Grand Couloir, though many experts prefer to exercise their skills on the world-class off-piste.
Courchevel really look after their terrain and have attempted to cater for everyone with fun areas for kids, a supervised snow park and even an avalanche camp. Despite the 600km of pistes and over 170 lifts of the wider Trois Vallées ski area, many find themselves satisfied with what Courchevel alone has to offer. However you decide to enjoy your holiday at Courchevel 1850, do it all with quality equipment at the best possible price when you hire with Ski Discount.
