Cheap ski hire Flaine
Flaine is located in the Haute-Savoie region, between Geneva and Chamonix Mont-Blanc, nestling at the summit of one of the largest linked ski areas in France, the Grand Massif. As a purpose built French resort of the 60’s, Flaine is hugely popular with families, with its ski-in/ski-out set-up, pedestrianised streets, and excellent entertainment facilities. For après ski, this modest village has some surprisingly exciting options, from the popular Le Flying Dutchman to Les Caves Nightclub, which is open until 5am every day of the week.
Flaine is a car-free resort, dramatically designed in the Bauhaus style to exhibit ‘the principle of shadow and light’. More traditional chalet styles villages can be found on the outskirts of the main resort, which has all the main conveniences, as well as a free bus and taxi services to take you to the neighbouring resorts with a little more activity, such as Montsoleil. The accommodation in the centre is largely apartments, suiting families and large groups, but with wider lodging options in the outlying villages. Remember, if you’re planning to hire skis for a party over 10 people, Ski Discount can offer you an extra 7% off your ski and snowboard hire.
An average snowfall of 6m a year puts it at the top of the charts for Alpine snow, particularly in France. This is reflected in the 265km of some of the most beautiful ski runs in France across a huge variety of skill levels and tastes. The ski schools are award winning and the black runs are outstanding here, with Styx and Diamant Noir probably constituting the most difficult; from beginner to Olympian, Flaine is great for skiers. Snowboarders will find Flaine something of a paradise, with the largest terrain park in the Grand Massif, which frequently holds events, parties and barbeques on its slopes.
Ski Discount will equip every level of confidence and ability with the right skis and snowboards to suit you in Flaine. Book now for savings of up to 60%.
