Cheap ski hire Isola 2000
Isola 2000 is one of the highest resorts on the Alps, allowing it to be situated so close to the Mediterranean and still get decent snow cover. As one of the newest ski areas in Europe, Isola also benefits from good facilities, great shopping, and exciting hotels. The resort has also benefited from heavy recent investment, developing pleasing modern architecture and the overall visual appeal of Isola.
Isola’s après ski is a definite strength, with dozens of bars to choose from. La Rhumerie, and Le Crocodile are popular drinking holes with a good atmosphere and a friendly clientele, while Le Cuba Loca caters to the nightclub crowd. Isola gives visitors a chance to experience all that après ski has to offer. In terms of food, The Marmotte is an excellent option for mountain specialities, while La Valette is an on-mountain eatery specialising in traditional regional cuisine.
Beginners will benefit from a set of tracks in the gentle slope near the largely pedestrianised resort; sitting on a 5km plateau gives Isola 2000 some long, gentle slopes on which to learn and practice before graduating on the blues higher up. Intermediates will also feel totally at home in Isola, with more than 75% of the resorts runs being graded blue or red. The most difficult run in Isola is the 3km long Boumphrey run, which drops down from the ski area’s highest point at Cime de Sistron in to a snowy valley above the treeline. On a clear day this trail offers outstanding views of the Mediterranean Sea with the dramatic massif in the background. Advanced skiers can also enjoy steep off piste terrain in the Mont Saint Sauveur, including the exciting Super Vallon and Lou Mesclun blacks.
Isola was home to France’s first ever snowboarding club and has remained popular with boarders ever since, from the novice to the professional. Getting around the resort is easy, and the terrain park at an impressively high altitude of 2,300m is complete with half pipe and boarder cross.
Whether you’re a boarder or a skier, Ski Discount can provide you with everything you need to tackle the Isola slopes this winter, and all at the best possible price.
