Cheap ski hire La Clusaz
La Clusaz has all the facilities you would expect from a modern resort without surrendering entirely to consumerism; it’s a village full of traditional Savoyard charm. Airport convenience makes La Clusaz an ideal spot for the weekend and explains in part why so many Brits have bought chalets and apartments here. However, their presence is La Clusaz is muted – resorts are mainly frequented by the French, and unlike in some of the big name resorts, you actually feel you are on holiday in France. The lively après ski in La Clusaz covers a good selection of mountain restaurants, bars, and cafes, but again is not overwhelmed by Brits. Partygoers should investigate Pressoir, Salto and Club 18, not to mention l’Ecluse, known for its transparent floor above the river.
The slopes of La Clusaz are predominantly oriented to the southwest and northeast, and are spread over 5 different massifs: Beauregard, Manigod, Etale, Aiguille and Balme. Beauregard area is easily accessible by cable car from the main departure area of La Clusaz, and gives access to a sunny terrace with a dedicated space for children and families. Most of the slopes are intermediate, but the La Balme area of La Clusaz offers long runs and considerable challenges, and the area offered is sufficiently extensive and challenging to satisfy even the most demanding skier or snowboarder. Although La Clusaz is quickly becoming regarded as the freestyle skiing capital of Europe, it remains remarkably quiet when compared to its similar level competitors, and is one of the best kept secrets in the area. Nordic skiing enthusiasts will also find their happiness in La Clusaz with a dedicated space on the Beauregard plateau and the Confins plateau. It also has great potential for off-piste and extreme skiing, as well as a host of non-skiing activities, such as ice skating and paragliding. La Clusaz also offers one of the best value for money ski passes in the area; the Aravis pass gives access to the whole of La Clusaz and then extends across to the neighbouring resort of Le Grand Bornand. The two stations are connected by a free shuttle.
Take advantage of La Clusaz, one of the most beautiful towns in France, with some of the best and most underrated skiing in the Alps. Hire your La Clusaz skiing equipment with Ski Discount and save up to 60%.
