Cheap ski hire La Plagne Belle Plagne
La Plagne is the name given to the collection of villages scattered across the gentle plateau of this steep mountain, and along with Les Arcs it makes up the renowned Paradiski area.
Sleepy, more traditional villages like Montchavin and Les Coches sit lower down the mountain, but the high altitude village of Belle Plagne is designed in the traditional Austrian style, with convenience and a great atmosphere being the defining characteristics of the town. Likely the best après ski in the whole of La Plagne; the bars here are lively and animated, with much of the action centring on La Tete Inn and La Cheyenne Café, popular local drinking holes. The restaurants in Belle Plagne are also excellent; we recommend Carlina Hotel, and the traditional Savoyard menu of Matafan. It’s no wonder that Belle Plagne is one of the most popular resort villages in the entire Paradiski area.
La Plagne provides a great resort for lower level skiers, with relatively flat topography creating wide expanses of gentle slopes for beginners. For the more ambitious among us, the top lift peaks out at 3,250m, with pistes going all the way down to 1,250m. Links are also available to the Paradiski sister resorts of Les Arcs via double-decker cable car, allowing access to a further 200km of more intensive skiing. Ski Discount supplies both resorts with heavily cut priced ski and snowboard hire. Just as family friendly as the popular Les Arcs, La Plagne is a decidedly less crowded alternative. When it’s time to take a break, we recommend the 1,500m long Olympic bob run.
