Cheap ski hire Méribel Centre
Set in the famous Trois Vallées ski area, Méribel is a beautiful alternative to the likes of Courchevel, La Tania, and Val Thorens. Though Méribel is a sizeable resort, it is split in to several parts, with individual villages like Méribel Mottaret being established further up the mountain. As a whole, it maintains a friendly village atmosphere and some beautiful landscapes. There’s a lively après-ski scene and the resort is frequented by a large number of Brits, so language is unlikely to pose a problem.
Accommodation in Méribel is mostly in upmarket chalets but there’s also a good selection of hotels and self-catering apartments. Some of these are a little bit further out but the private minibus transfers tend to be spacious and don’t cost you anything. The après ski is as its best in the Méribel Centre, with the L’Ekrin restaurants having just been awarded a Michelin star, and other eateries like Aux Petits Oignons and the Helios Restaurant offering excellent food too. An excellent selection of bars, pubs, clubs, and more are available in Méribel Centre too, and you’ll find it difficult to get bored. Don’t be afraid to bring the family though, Méribel has award winning childcare facilities throughout the resort.
Méribel alone is a great, challenging mountain, especially for beginners and intermediates. Once the enormous scope of the Trois Vallées region is also included, it becomes one of the Alps’ most outstanding resorts. Although some might argue that Méribel lacks steep terrain, in all honesty there is enough quality terrain here to keep most skiers occupied for their entire skiing career. Plus, the constant upgrading and overhauling of the lift system make this one of the smoothest day’s skiing you’ll ever experience.
The combination of extensive slopes, superb location and attractive architecture makes Méribel one of Europe’s safest bets for a great holiday. Make it even safer with the guarantee of quality equipment, professionally picked and cared for, hired with Ski Discount.
