Cheap ski hire Serre Chevalier 1350 Chantemerle

As the biggest skiing area in the southern French Alps, it would be fair to imagine Serre Chevalier as a large purpose built resort along the lines of Avoriaz, but you’d be very wrong. The villages here all started out life independently and were only grouped and expanded when skiing took off in the area. The historic village centres still stand as focal points in several of these fully evolved hamlets, though the facilities and accommodation have developed significantly in recent years, creating a pleasing juxtaposition between the old and new. Chantemerle is one of the main villages here, with affordable apartment accommodation and a decent selection of drinking holes; Loup Blanc is perfect for those seeking a cosy log fire ambience, and serves great food besides, while on the other end of the spectrum L'Escapade nightclub offers drinking and dancing until the small hours of the morning. Chantemerle also has some of the best restaurants in the entire resort, with La Boule De Neige and Chantemerle La Cabassa both serving traditional French food at its best.
Serre Chevalier Chantemerle has some great nursery slopes, with a host of blues at high altitude. Serre Chevalier is truly the dream playground of the intermediate though, with nearly 100 different piste runs to explore. The skiing is truly extensive; there’s 15 black runs, as well as some outstanding off-piste. With 3 terrain parks, as well as boarder cross and a quarter pipe, the snowboarding opportunities here are equally as exciting.
