Cheap ski hire Val Thorens
Val Thorens has spent the past few decades transforming itself from an overlooked outpost in to a youthful and dynamic new world resort that boasts over 200 ski lifts and 150km of slopes (increased to 600km with the Trois Vallées ski area). This resort has something to offer for every level of experience, with 11 green runs, 29 blue, 29 red and 9 black runs, as well as a 70,000m² snowpark, boardercross, a slalom piste, a kids village, and ski schools for beginners to improve their style. The resort is ski-in/ski-out, so the convenience here is excellent, as is the system of splitting the expansive skiing available in to distinct areas which people can explore according to their skill level and preference.
The highest ski resort in Europe, Val Thorens offers not only fantastic skiing for all abilities, but is also the leading Alpine retreat for food; it already has two Michelin-starred restaurants as well a host of other burgeoning contenders. Jean Sulpice, the holder of two Michelin stars, even offers a cooking class at the weekend. For refreshments of the liquid kind, Folie Douce boasts the tagline of “the dancefloor on top of the world”, and is certainly a buzzing hub of après ski on the mountain, with plenty of other clubs back down at the resort. The atmosphere at the bars here is much more pointed than in most of the purpose-built resorts, making Val Thorens as much of a delight off slopes as on them. Hosting events and competitions across the winter season, there is always something going on that goes far beyond just skiing; the Ski Force Winter Tour gives the opportunity to test out all the latest winter sport tech during the opening weekend, while the Andros Trophy takes the action up a gear with car racing on ice. Val Thorens is a high energy resort with plentiful amenities and endless options on how to spend your holiday.
